Get To Know The Game in a Simple Way
Padel is a racquet sport that originated in Mexico in the 1960s and has gained popularity worldwide, particularly in Spain and Latin America. It is a mix of tennis and squash, played on a smaller court with lower nets and walls surrounding the playing area.
The court is 20 meters long and 10 meters wide, with walls of at least 3 meters height on all sides except for the net area. The playing surface is made of artificial turf or similar materials, and the net is placed at 88cm in the center.
Padel racket: solid paddle of carbon fiber, graphite, or other composite materials.
Padel balls: Padel balls are similar to tennis balls but slightly smaller and have less pressure.
Padel court: smaller than a tennis court with walls on all sides. The court is 20 meters long and 10 meters wide, and the walls are 3 meters high.
Padel shoes: They are designed to provide good traction on the court and prevent slipping.
Padel is played in doubles, with four players on the court simultaneously. The game’s rules are similar to tennis, with the objective being to hit the ball over the net and into the opponent’s court without returning it. However, the walls surrounding the court can also be used to play the ball, making for longer rallies and more strategic play.
The scoring system is also similar to tennis, with matches typically played as the best of three or five sets. Points are awarded when the ball is hit outside the court or when a player fails to return the ball over the net or within the walls.
